a shop that makes me cry...

with joy. its not often that im blown away by the fashion available at stores like edgars, truworths et al, but forever new (fourways mall and woodlands mall pretoria) is just in a league of its own. i love the soft colours, the salmon pinks, the rose bracelets, the shoes, bags, hair accessories...absolutely everything...even the decor and changing rooms are to die for. also there is always a sale rack with items that you can really take home for next to nothing - in size ten. i mean, where do you get that nowadays? image from the forever new collection

ok so i'll admit that i was a bit sceptical about this new perfume called womanity by thierry mugler...the weird peacock headdress used in the ad campaign was a little strange. however, arb bottle and ad campaign aside, this perfume is actually divine. i stand to be corrected but i think it is the only perfume in the world to have notes of caviar...yes, caviar. its got that whole sweet and sour thing going which i love...not too floraly, citrisy, musky or anything...just nice, solid and distinct.

ke ai in greenside

if you like cute, kitsch and kiddy like odds and ends (think hello kitty, plastic phones) you will LOVE ke ai in greenside. they stock a range of items from clocks to clips, all hailing from the kitsch capital of the world: china. some really cute gift ideas here for christmas...

what i love about the office

its about time jozi got a cocktail bar / drinking hole for the slightly more mature crowd (not too mature as in the baron on main's regulars, but not so young as in manhatten). the office is a cute, cozy, cosmopolitan hang out where you get happy hour, cute guys and yummy cocktails. reminds me a lot of the bars i found in barcelona's barceloneta strip, which serves to the upmarket yuppy crowd. if you feeling a bit peckish they serve tappas, ranging from calamari rings to spring rolls. defo recommended for afterwork drinks or as a warm up to a big night out.

scary party for scary people

oooh so its halloween! whats happening around town? parkhurst patrons are trick or treating along 4th and surrounds and 44 on stanley is hosting its 'scary halloween celebrations'. expect good food, live music, a photo booth and other kids attractions, and much more.

my favourite thing of the day

those of you that dont know - there is a little piece of paris in parkhurst called Moi and it has the cutest, chicest and most girly things. from trinkets to frames, mirrors to pedestals - this place is a shoppers delight. found the cutest little keyrings there - including one that looks like a big engagement rock. that should get toungues wagging. they make really cute presents...or could give a girl some hope :)

shop by candlelight in november

every november, jozi residents get treated to an evening of late night shopping along one of JHB's trendiest streets - 4th avenue. its an awsome treat to take in the cool night air, shop at the quaint stores by candlelight and eat at one of the many amazing restaurants. its on this year on thursdays 18 and 25 november...yay cant wait :) :)
