gorgeous vera wang
macaroon earings anyone?
i know this isn't very chic or anything and has nothing to do with jozi, but i just couldn't resist. i found these cute items on www.abataba.com (a spanish site) - aren't they so ... um, quaint? have never seen anything quite like it.

the kardashians jolling in jozi
eish khloe, what did you kill to wear that?
those eyelashes are unreal
my almost kardashian look-a-like cousins were lucky enough to get a tip off from a lady who works at a well-known south african weekly tabloid (there is only one...so you can figure this one out) that the k-bots were going to be at melrose arch wed evening (16 dec 2010) having dinner. here are some of the pics they took (not bad - they look like paparazzi photos). apparently they are skinnier in real life. and khloe's ring is mo-fo huge. and those eyelashes do look fantastic!! gotta love them dash girls!
le creuset is my new favourite thing on my wish list
there are few things that really take my breath away. especially kitchen related paraphernalia. except le creuset. it takes my breath away. the range is just beautiful, albeit pricey. but the idea is you keep the goods for life, they are investment pieces and you build a range over a life time. sigh. but where to begin? and which colours to choose? this christmas, i went le creuset window shopping at the boutique shops in brooklyn, pretoria (there is one in killarney too) and they have the baby mini me version of the cocottes - it is so damn cute i just want to buy one in every colour. but at R333 for one little pot its a bit steep. oh well, a girl can dream...pics courtesy of lecreuset.co.za
turbine hall newtown
so sorry i have been quiet my darlings, but have been very busy with year-end do's etc. one of them was a cousins wedding, held at the turbine hall in newtown. what. an. awesome. venue! it was fantastic - very new-york-loft-like, so therefore very unlike the usual avianto-esque venues on the wedding mile on beyers naude. the decor was minimalist chic, the food was plated (i.e. no stand and wait buffet) and the photogs were non other than the uber-cool duo we love pictures. i love we love pictures. can't wait to see the pics! back to the venue - what i loved about it is that for a relatively large wedding of 250 people, the venue was cosy and made the event feel more intimate and less pretentious. the tables were rectangular so you didnt get this vast-space-around-a-round-table vibe. loved it, loved it!

my summer 2010 trends
summer 2010 is all about contrasts - girly lace detail paired with boyfriend blazers. animal print with beige pieces. girly boho skirts with edgy denim jackets. so ladies, pay attention to my top 4 summer trends: this is what you are going to need this summer to stay chic and trendy....
boyfriend blazer - this is worn with sleeves rolled up! very cute with jeans or cropped pants. I saw really cute ones at Mr Price for R70 or something...with stripy detail. you could try your boyfriends blazer for real...although i wouldn’t. the idea is that the waist remains tailored to show off your lady curves. it is fab, it updates any look and it looks so so chic!
lace - yes, lace is back. you would have noticed this unless you lived in welkom. its soft, pretty, feminine and i especially love the lace details you find on little tank tops. saw really cute ones at jayjays, but if you want to splurge then forever new is a must.
neutral and pastel - i love all things beige/stone/salmon pink (see pic above). you can pair neutral with just about anything and it also helps with the transition to autumn. and it looks expensive. for inspiration visit forever new. be careful though. leave the credit card at home if you can’t afford it. the idea is that the muted tones of this trend should flatter animal prints. now, maybe i watch too much jerseylicious, but im not a fan of animal print. and i will never be. so i just like to wear this trend with dark denim and black. period.
nautical - this makes an appearance every few seasons. the cutest nautical things i have seen so far are little dresses at yde. i bought one. i get lots of compliments. fyi.
how to curl your hair with a ghd
i've had my ghd for almost 4 years now. and i would like to think i've become pretty good at using it. hell, i can ghd without a mirror nowadays. but there is one thing i have never been able to do with my ghd - and that is curl my hair. so im hoping this tutorial can shed some light on this elusive excercise. good luck ladies! i know im going to need it :)

my christmas wishlist for 2010
aaa, christmas. a time for giving. a time for receiving.... lots and lots of cute goodies. luckily, im such an easy person to buy for. when asked "what do you want for your birthday/christmas", i can give you a list off the top of head. so, thought i would share my top christmas wants for 2010 with you. you know, in case a benefactor happens to read this post:
benefit makeup
any type, andy kind, anything from benefit. buy me benefit and i will love you forever. why? because i love gimicky makeup, esp their fake-it kits, their pore-fessional etc. and the packaging. i love the packaging! you can get benefit at almost all big woolworths' (sandton, menlyn etc.)
duck egg blue egyptian cotton 300 thread count duvet set from loads of living
ok so its a bit pricey i know. but we spend a third of our lives in our bedroom, so there. and its where you start your day and end it, so why not do it in style? on 300 egyption count cotton. comon, this is my wishlist - i can put what i want on here.
hot summer night spa package from mangwanani
i dont mind people touching my feet or my elbows, especially if they are have grapeseed oil on hand. nuff said. i cant go for a full day spa, its too much relaxation for me (really, i begin to get nauseous) but a half day one will be just fine thanks. a pedicure at a neighbourhood spa will also do the trick thanks.
some nice bath smellies and lotions etc
can never get enough bath stuff, because i use it. i dont keep it all pretty in my bathroom, i use it as i get it. therefore im forever running out.
voucher from aldo
do i have to explain this one? their shoes last and they are pretty.
golf guys training voucher
so, uh, i have been saying for some time now that i would very much like to learn how to play golf. and its my 2011 resolution. i live 2 m away from a golf mashie thing in jhb, so nows a good as time as ever to get started. not too sure what i need for this, but ill take care of the outfits. i have already spoken to trevor at golfguys.co.za and he thinks i need the lady tutorials. what better gift than this?

oh so pretty!
came across these pics and just got lost in them. they are so divine - alice in wonderland meets jean paul gaultier no? or something like that...love the cherry blossoms...they look so dreamy! pic taken by georges antoni...what a talented man! love his photographs....
i want this!
i confess: im a quasi slob. as in, im quite fond of clutter and books and pinboards and the chaotic way they all come together to make a room look lived in. and this here office is a perfect example of what i want mine to look like. if i had one. loving the eiffel tower lamp and the cameo on the wall. love it love it!
